TIM HOWARD Biography

Soccer player and sports speaker Tim Howard is a goalkeeper for the United States National team. Beginning his career with the North Jersey Imerials he made a move to the MetroStars, now known as the New York Red Bulls. Howard’s goalkeeping skills did not go unnoticed internationally and in 2003 he signed with Manchester United then moved to Everton Football Club based in Liverpool in 2007.

Tim Howard helped the team win the 2003 FA Community Shield, the 2003-04 FA Cup and the 2005-06 League Cup. Tim went on loan with the signing of Edwin van der Sar, and went to play for Everton and signed permanently with them in February 2007. In January 2012, Tim scored a goal and his first as a professional soccer player against the Bolton Wanderers. This made him the fourth goalkeeper and the second American to score a goal in a Premier League match.

He first represented the United States in 2002 and he later established himself as a first choice goalkeeper and started all of the games for Team USA at the 2010 World Cup. In 2014 Tim Howard reached his 100th cap making his one hundredth appearance in an international game playing for the US against Nigeria. He went on to compete in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Considered the underdog in the tournament, the United States team went up against Ghana in the first round defeating the team two to one. In 2014, Tim released his book, The Keeper, in which he opened up about his life with Tourette Syndrome and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Tim Howard is available for sporting events, sports clinics and endorsements.
